Team Description
Edith Cowan University (ECU) Racing is a student run enterprise which undertakes the annual design and construction of a Formula SAE Racing car.
It is the newest Formula SAE Australian team and has had an amazing start.
In 2010 the team chose to move from a spaceframe chassis to an aluminum honeycomb monocoque, this saw great weight and time savings and the team finished 5th overall.
Most recently the team achieved its greatest results with a third place overall and first place in design at 2011 F-SAE-Australasia. The team also achieved third in acceleration and third in autocross.
The 2011 'The Nail' was dedicated to the memory of the Repco-Brabham team run by Sir Jack Brabham and Ron Tauranac, and for the first time sported some very large aerodynamic wings.
